Minor Service
A regular health check for your vehicle, designed to maintain its overall performance and safety between more comprehensive checks. Typically recommended by manufacturers annually or after a specific number of miles, this service involves changing the engine oil and oil filter, inspecting and topping up other vital fluids, checking the brakes, tyres, lights, and wipers, and a thorough examination of the vehicle’s other essential components.
A Minor Service ensures that the vehicle remains efficient, reduces the risk of breakdown, and can help maintain its resale value.
Major Service
An exhaustive examination and maintenance of a vehicle. Generally recommended by manufacturers every 2-3 years or after a particular mileage threshold, it encompasses everything in a Minor Service and more.
This includes replacing air filters, fuel filters, spark plugs, and possibly even changing the brake fluid or coolant. The vehicle’s transmission, exhaust system, steering alignment, and suspension might also be inspected and adjusted if necessary.

Not sure what service you need?
As a general rule of thumb it is recommended that your car receives a minor every 12,000 miles or every 12 months – whichever comes sooner.
If you haven’t covered that many miles or it hasn’t been a full year since your last service, an Interim Service may suit your needs – keeping your vehicle in check between Full and Major services.
